Teh Octavius is a legendary, probably mythological ship. It is said, in the 18th centuary, the Octavius left England for the Orient. The ship arrived a year later. The captain decided that they would try and return through the then unconcurred, Northwest Passage. It was found 13 years later near Greenland by the Whaler Herald. The entire crew were frozen solid, with the Captain still at his desk with the ships log in his hand. They had become stuck in sea ice north of Alaska and became the first to cross the treacherous Northwest Passage, albeit posthumously. The log was recovered but was mostly destroyed as it was still frozen. The Octavius became dislodged from the ice after the encounter with the Herald and floated away into the mist.
