Flat Holm Island
Flat Holm Island lies in the Bristol Channel 6 miles from Lavernock. However it is apart of Cardiff, Wales and has the southern most point of Wales. The island has had a long history of ocuupation dating right back to the 6th century. It is currently home to an unmanned Lighthouse which dates back to the 18th century and a foghorn station which was built in 1906. The island has also had built on its limestone, a catholic mission, a sanitarium hospital for cholera quarentine, batteries, barracks and a radar station.
